God's grace

I have been thinking a lot more about God's grace to His children.  People call grace unmerited favor--God's favor that we do not deserve.

I think it is like we are such little children to God, is it easy to forgive our little mistakes.  Like if a baby is learning to walk, you know it is going to be wobbly and stumble and fall.  You don't expect the tiny baby to be graceful, or athletic like a runner, or beautiful like a ballerina.  You expect it to be difficult for the baby to learn to walk.

God has grace on His children because he expects a lot of mistakes.

That does not mean that there is not sin and forgiveness of sin.  We sin all the time because we do not love God enough.  the very first of the ten commandments is to have no other Gods but Him Exodus 20:3.  Jesus explained that this means we should love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind--the first and greatest commandment Matthew 22:37 and Deuteronomy 6:4-5.

That is why we are always sinning, because God is not first in our minds and hearts.  It is true in First John 1:8-10 that we always have sin in us and God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them to Him.

But God gives His children MORE GRACE James 4:6.  He gives more grace and He resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

I love you and God loves you!
