I had been told that Linda Mercer's Angoras had a recessive gene for color, but poor ol' Apollo (RIP--see left) is the first time I saw any evidence. Some of his babies from last year and this year were born with dark brown eyes instead of the light blue--it looks so cool! But Daniel from last year kept his ice blue baby-colored eyes and still has them. Well, Charlotte's baby that I though was brown from mud--really is a brown baby! It looks so funny to see this herd of 23 white goats, and one little brown baby among them! Both he and Stormy--who are now three weeks old--began running with the herd just like they thought they were big from the time they were two or three days old. So precocious! It is so cute to see this big thundering goat herd running across the pasture with one little white speck and one little brown speck among them!!
Angora goats rule!
Thank you, Lord, for my job, my home, and goats!
